Sister dedicates Banyana medal to people of Bay

SENSATIONAL professional football ace Amanda Sister has dedicated her African Women Championship silver medal to the people of Port Elizabeth.

The Banyana Banyana defender, who lives in Veeplaas, was a member of the South African team which made history by reaching the final of the prestigious tournament.

They were beaten 4-0 by hosts Equatorial Guinea on Sunday but can hold their heads high.

Liverpool Ladies' Sister, 22, has been a regular in Ban- yana and has formed a solid partnership with Janine van Wyk in the centre of defence.

She said winning the silver medal with the team was a career highlight and was extra sweet following their poor performance at the London Olympic Games.

Sister is the only player in the national team from the Eastern Cape.
