Kawa rape suspects cleared

A RAPE survivor’s desperate attempt for justice to be served blew up in her face yesterday when the charges were dropped against the men she had pointed out during a protest march in Port Elizabeth last week as her alleged assailants.

Police said yesterday DNA evidence had failed to link the two men to the brutal 15-hour attack at the beachfront.

Gang-rape survivor Andy Kawa became tearful on hearing the news.

This is the second time in just a matter of weeks that investigations in the case have been halted.
