The stork had a busy time making deliveries to state hospitals where provincial health department spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said 81 babies were born.
Sizwe said 14 of the 81 babies born at state hospitals were born in Nelson Mandela Bay. He was unable to say how many of them were boys and how many girls.
Six babies were born at private hospitals in the Bay.
Life Mercantile Hospital’s only baby was a girl, born at 6.30pm.
Three babies were born at Life St George’s Hospital – the twin boys at 4.30am and another boy about 12 hours later.
Netcare Greenacres Hospital spokeswoman Adele Kennedy said two babies were born there.
