Residents angry over slow response after storm

RESIDENTS of Tyeni village in Tsolo are up in arms about the slow response by provincial and municipal authorities to come to their aid after many homes were destroyed by a storm.

The storm, which followed two weeks of heavy rain in the Transkei region, damaged mud houses and left at least one family homeless.

OR Tambo District municipal manager Tshaka Hlazo said yesterday a preliminary report showed that 14 houses had been affected in the storm on December 14.
