A LETTER of advice to the 2012 class:
Now that you've passed matric, what's next? Let's conquer the world of work or tertiary education.
On this side, matriculants, it's a dog eat dog scenario, survival of the fittest or, should I say, most equipped. I concede that high school education is not enough to conquer this world, because you compete not only with your ex-peers but with other individuals who more equipped, hungry and financially able to survive.
So do yourself and your family a favour and get tertiary education.
It will set you apart, it will act as a negotiating tool with employers and classify you accordingly.
Please stay away from humanities degrees. I will be bold enough to mention a few: law, social work, psychology and BA admin.
Please try something innovative, unique and new. I will dare say go for biomedical technology, radiology, physics, BSc in maths, among others.
You will be doing yourself, your family and South Africa a favour.
