EAST London's Greg Emslie successfully defended the men's title in the SA Pro Surf Tour which concluded at the weekend, taking the top spot for the third year in a row. Durban's Dan Redman and Chad du Toit were second and third respectively.
The Pro Surf Tour is made up of events that offer prize money and are sanctioned by Surfing SA.
Another East London surfer, Nikita Robb, and Chantelle Rautenbach, of Melkbosstrand, tied for first place in the women's division, with Port Shepstone's Heather Clark third.
SA champion Michael February, of Kommetjie, beat Jeffreys Bay's Dylan Lightfoot and David van Zyl, of Durban, into second and third places respectively to take the under-20 boys' PST title, while Tanika Hoffman (Cape Town ) won the girls' category, with Heidi Palmboom (Bluff) second and Emma Smith (Jeffreys Bay) third.
Matt McGillivray, of Jeffreys Bay, won the u-16 boys' title, followed by Steff Burrows (Stellenbosch) and Adin Masencamp (Strand). In another success for the Eastern Cape in the u-16 age-group, Tahra Uren (J-Bay) edged out Anoush Zakarian (Melkbosstrand) and Britney Linder (PE).
The u-14 boys' champion is Adin Masencamp. Don Wichmann (Marina Da Gama) was second and Koby Oberholzer (Warner Beach) came third. Oberholzer tied with Max Elkington (Kommetjie) in the under-12 boys' division, while Angelo Faulkner (Jeffreys Bay) came third.
