A NEW private school which accommodates street children has opened in Port Elizabeth, just in time for the new school year.
Urban Academy is the realisation of a dream by a group of Port Elizabeth teachers and community workers to provide quality education to those who could previously not attend school.
Situated in Govan Mbeki Avenue opposite the post office, the school has designed a unique education model where even the neediest children are taken care of alongside pupils from more affluent communities. It will also offer remedial tuition.
