Concert plan to help 2 000 fire victims

A BENEFIT concert is being planned by good Samaritans to help more than 2 000 people left homeless after a devastating blaze in Port Elizabeth last week.

Social Development Department official Unathi Dulwana is one of those arranging the January 19 concert for the affected residents of New Brighton’s Chris Hani informal settlement.

The concert is scheduled to take place from 11am at the New Brighton Park.

In a separate effort to help the victims of the blaze in which 300 shacks were destroyed, Facebook site the Public Servant News Network Port Elizabeth Appreciation Squad is collecting and distributing donations.
