Two people died when a light aircraft crashed on Thursday morning while going in to land at a private airfield near Klipheuwel in the Western Cape, paramedics said.
ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said paramedics and rescuers were called to the R304 where the aircraft had caught alight after it crash landed.
"When the rescuers arrived there was nothing more that could be done for the two occupants as their remains were badly burnt," she said in a statement.
"The two were declared dead at the scene."
Jackson added that no further details were available and that the authorities would investigate the cause of the crash.
