Weekend promises soccer thrillers

WITH all the teams playing double-headers over the weekend, Manchester City should consolidate their position at the top of the Zwifa Marina Sea Premier Soccer League.

Helped by a walkover against Major Chiefs before the Christmas break, City have a one-point lead over Zwide Celtic. They play Strikers United tomorrow and Umanyano on Sunday.

The fixtures are:

Tomorrow, B field: Major Chiefs v Umanyano, Camper United v Golden Chiefs, Gal City v Zwide Pirates, Manchester City v Strikers United

C field: Zwide Celtics v Kuyasa United, Morning Stars v Soweto Angels, Little Birds v Young Killers, Real Crusaders v Shining Stars

Sunday, B field: Major Chiefs v Young Killers, Real Crusaders v Soweto Angels, Little Birds v Zwide Celtics, Morning Stars v Strikers United

C field: Gal City v Golden Aces, Camper United v Kuyasa United, Shining Stars v Zwide Pirates, Manchester City v Umanyano
 


THE clash between Red City and Real White City will be the centre of attraction when the Nebfa Sedgars Premier League season resumes at the New Brighton Oval this evening.

Red City were relegated from the Safa-NMB SAB League last year and although it is early in the season, they are in pole position and are making a determined bid to return to the senior league.

The fixtures are:

Tonight, New Brighton Oval: City Lads v City Defenders, Dodgers v CCX Callies, Red City v Real White City.

Tomorrow, Chevrolet Stadium: Eastern Jumpers v PE United, Bush Bucks v Winter Rose, PE Sundowns v Roaring Tigers

New Brighton Oval: Pondo Stars v Boast Pirates, Stinging Bees v Bold Tigers

Sunday, Chevrolet Stadium: Roaring Tigers v CCX Callies, PE Sundowns v Dodgers, PE United v Boast Pirates, City Lads v Stinging Bees.

New Brighton Oval: Winter Rose v Real White City, Red City v Bush Bucks, Bold Tigers v City Defenders, Eastern Jumpers v Pondo Stars.

THE Wafa Marina Sea Salt Premier League kicks off tomorrow at the Walmer Community fields.

Defending champions Airport Valley United should start the season with maximum points when they play Real Madrid in the last fixture of the day. The pick of the weekend should be the clash between Peace United and Young Cosmos on Sunday.

The fixtures are:

Saturday: Ghetto Stars v Eleven Experience, FC Moscow v Brazil United, African Aces, Seaview United, Real Madrid v Airport Valley United

Sunday: Young Aces v Teenagers, Golden Heroes v Walmer Stars, Peace United v Young Cosmos, Mayabone Strikers v Morning Stars
 


IKAMVA Movers must be favoured to maintain their slender lead at the top of the Mofa Premier League when they play Young Tigers on Sunday. The logleaders have a 13-point lead over Tigers.
