HAVING been well received in Europe and the United States, Port Elizabeth born DJ Heavy K is now ready to take South Africa by storm.
DJHeavy K, whose real name is Mkhululi Siqula, is releasing his debut album Wena next month.
This comes after his single, Gunshot, was well received in the Netherlands, Spain, France and the United States.
"DJ Oskido suggested I release a full album as my fans loved the first single. This is a double album with 23 tracks. I am now working on the last song and I am sure it is going to set the dance floors on fire," he said.
"I have featured local artists like Mathousand, Sdudla, Thoko, Prince and many more.
"National artists include Professor, Oskido and Demor [Shana] Bucie of Get Over It."
"This is a house album that people will love."
DJ Heavy K, a member of Point.5, said he combined his style with jazz and features members of the Saphetha jazz group.
The result is an album that can be enjoyed by young or old.
DJ Heavy K's manager, Mziwamadoda Ntlokwana, said the album was long overdue.
"It was supposed to be released last year but we did not want to release it at the same time as the Point.5 album. Point.5 fans should not worry because Point.5 is not splitting up," he said.
