Spinner's chance to shine

ROBIN Peterson has been waiting some time to make a serious impact with the ball for the Proteas and he will get that chance as South Africa push for a series victory over New Zealand in the second Sunfoil cricket test at Axxess St George's today.

New Zealand finished the third day on 157 for four wickets in their second innings, still 248 adrift of making South Africa bat again.

The tourists displayed the kind of resolve that has been lacking during the series, but with the pitch wearing more and more, and the bounce becoming lower and slower, one can hardly see the Kiwis lasting out the fourth day today.

For once in this series, the South African seamers failed to make inroads with the new ball in the second innings. Dale Steyn did the job in the first innings, wiping out the New Zealand lower order to finish with the 19th fifer of his career.
