Bay documentary to be shown on e.tv

Titled My Ma se Kind, it was produced by Adhoc Productions and will be broadcast on Sunday at 6.30pm.

Justin Oliphant, the director, said while it centred around the lives of Wesley Quantoi and Rodwell Peters, he had made it to tell a story about ubuntu, something he said was now lacking in communities. He received the opportunity to have his documentary shown on e.tv after the station sent out a brief for proposals in 2011.

"The documentary is not so much about the gangs, but about the need for us as members of the community to return to the values of ubuntu.”

He said the two main characters had given an insight into gang life. "It’s an in-your-face documentary and has an age restriction of 13 for violence.”
