Scores of artists to play at benefit for fire victims

MORE than 50 artists will perform free of charge at a benefit concert that is set to rock Nelson Mandela Bay this weekend.

The concert, at New Brighton Park on Saturday, is in aid of the 2000 people left homeless after a fire gutted more than 300 shacks in the Chris Hani informal settlement in New Brighton earlier this month.

The line-up includes Generations actor and musician Anga "NaakMusiq" Makubalo, multilingual alternative mixed genre band Maisha and Port Elizabeth hip-hop artist Qalazive.
Event organiser Unathi Dulwana said the tragedy had touched him and he felt he needed to do something that would benefit the victims.
