Libraries not public

IT IS hard to believe that the Nelson Mandela Bay public libraries will only open when schools are open.

Why are they called "public" when the provincial school department seemingly calls the shots?!

By the way, isn't this metro a federal entity, ie originating its own ideas and not always being dictated by the ruling party and/or national or provincial government?

It seems we, the Eastern Cape, will remain ignorant and self-disadvantaged for very long time to come as the free-thinkers and innovators are too few and far between!
