Two municipal security officers killed in morning crash

TWO Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality security officials were killed and another four people injured in a collision at the William Moffett and Cape Road intersection early yesterday morning.

Officers Mkhuseli Patrick Marcus, 47, and Louis Blouw, 48, who were travelling in the same car, died at the scene while four others in the second car were taken to hospital and are recovering.

Police spokeswoman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said the crash occurred when a Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Golf collided at about 4am.

"We do not know who sped through the red traffic light," she said.
