‘Fifty Shades’ gives SA vineyard a fine time

FIRST it became Britain’s bestselling book since records began, now Fifty Shades of Grey is making waves around the world.

The tale of bondage and erotica, which has sold 65 million copies worldwide, is having a surprising impact.

In South Africa, the owners of the Constantia vineyard said interest in their honey-coloured dessert wine had soared since it featured in the second volume of the trilogy.

"We’re asked every day by people coming into our tasting rooms about the wine appearing in Fifty Shades Darker,” managing director of the estate, Hans Astrom, said.
