Bank pulls video after ANC backlash

22 January 2013

BANKING giant First National Bank buckled under pressure and removed controversial online videos of its new "You Can Help" campaign, following outrage from the ANC yesterday.

The campaign features a series of TV and online adverts where schoolchildren speak out on important issues such as education, corruption and governance.

The TV advert features 17-year old Kelly Baloyi, of Naledi Secondary School in Soweto, calling on all South Africans to help to restore activism in the country.

The bank said the online videos were from an unscripted and uncensored survey it had conducted on youth and their views on the state of government.

Ok ANC you got what you wanted. But please tell us you took note of what was said in the adverts, learnt from it and will make corrections where the responsibility may lie with you to do so.
