LIVINGSTONE HOSPITAL

PLEASE will The Herald investigate doctor at Livingstone who went home as there were too many patients, before it gets swept under the carpet.

A NURSE

LIVINGSTONE Hospital is pathetic. My sister has been waiting for eight years for a hip transplant! Every time she goes there they say there’s no money.

FRUSTRATED

I WENT to Livingstone Hospital after work one night. The staff are disrespectful and even the doctor didn’t attend to me when I asked him to have a look at my knee. But I still have to pay my bill, which I’m being sent often, even though the only person that assisted me was the one who opened the file. What a disgrace. And to think I have to pay tax for such service delivery. Government employees, you seem to forget we’re the ones paying your salary.

DISGUSTED

I HAD the same experience at Livingstone Hospital. I took my 69-year-old mother, who was complaining of chest pains, to casualty on December 14 last year. We arrived at 10pm and left at 8.30 the next morning without seeing a doctor. The nurse told my mother she will have to lose her breath and be blue in her face before the doctor will see her. According to the nurse, my mother was not a trauma case. Another old lady in a wheelchair came in an ambulance at 8.30am December 14, without being attended to. "She has been waiting for 24 hours!” Hungry, cold and sore from sitting up straight through the night, I took my mom to a private doctor and also swore that Livingstone Hospital will never see me again. The doctor (female) and nursing staff were unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate! It’s a disgrace and they should be ashamed of themselves! They don’t belong in the profession. Health MEC, you need to start addressing these complaints.

IMPATIENT

THE Livingstone Hospital service to patients will never improve unless dedicated, qualified supervisors are put in charge at ground level.

BILL
I AM worried about those patients. I am a caregiver and am looking for a job and am a hard worker. Please take me, I’ll help them.

UNEMPLOYED

I WONDER how the private hospital nurse who took her mother to Livingstone will cope for one night in that casualty. Talk is cheap.

BEESOGIES

I TOOK my late husband to Livingstone Hospital and waited nine hours to see a doctor. It is a hospital straight from hell. I will never go there again. I will rather die.

ANGRY

I AM so surprised with a person like Karen Macomas who negatively attacked Livingstone Hospital’s staff and doctors. How many patients suffer in private hospitals? Shame on you.

JACOB, PE

WELL done Karen Macomas for speaking out. If I am ever ill, I hope you will be on duty as you sound like someone with empathy. I hope your mom recovers.

SUPPORTER

I HONESTLY think it is totally pathetic! Employ people with the experience, knowledge, good ethical standards, those who are willing to go the extra mile! There are so many fresh, young nurses out there, get rid of the old! As well as doctors! Forget about race and look at experience, knowledge and ethics once again! Instead of employing "the matrons daughter” for the job, employ the one who actually gives a good answer to why they think they have what it takes! This country needs someone in charge that looks at each person with the same judgment! I am sick and tired of people who think they can play with the lives of others!

FNB V ANC

WILL FNB stand up to the ANC like Chris Ball took on PW Botha? Me thinks not for their business will not multiply!

BANK pulls video after ANC backlash. What happened to free speech or does that only apply to the ANC?

ME thinks the ANC protests too much! If the shoe fits, WEAR IT!

WHAT the hell are kids doing at protest action scenes?

ALL these so-called service delivery protests are a big con. It is just an excuse to loot shops. They have learnt well from their elected representatives.

AFCON TICKET DISASTER

THE local organising committee statement reveals total incompetence. If action was taken on Friday when Sunridge Spar, the ticket office at the stadium and New Brighton Spar all reported that the stadium was sold out, there should have been some high level intervention. I went to the mentioned places in person. Calls on Saturday morning confirmed the sold out status. In addition the two Sunday matches were no longer reflected on the ticket website. At all ticket locations, I met many unhappy fans. On match day outside the stadium the black market was in full swing! Dear organising committee, don’t blame the ticket printer, blame yourself!
