Deputy mayor disputes cost of finding manager

DEPUTY mayor Nancy Sihlwayi has vehemently denied that it would cost half a million rand for a human resources company to headhunt a municipal manager for Nelson Mandela Bay, saying it would cost a lot less.

Sihlwayi, who is the head of the interview panel which has been trying to find a suitable manager, has slammed a report in The Herald published earlier this month which revealed the expected recruitment cost.

"It's a lie and fallacy that the appointment will be costing R500000. That amount refers to the budget vote for human resources appointments," she said.

"The money that will be used by the headhunting company is far less than what was quoted in the newspaper.
