Fireworks expected as East Cape Super 12 kicks off

WITH 2012 champions Despatch involved in the Community Cup, the way has been paved for a battle royale when the Eastern Cape Super 12 club rugby competition kicks off tomorrow.

Both Despatch and Community Cup wild cards African Bombers have different objectives this season, but that should, in no way, lessen the competitiveness of the Super 12, which involves six clubs from EP and six from Border.

PE teams such as Park, PE SAPS, Gardens and Harlequins will all be fully motivated to lay down a marker in club rugby. The Super 12 will be their immediate objective, while, in the long-term, many of the teams will be keen to follow in the footsteps of Despatch, Bombers and Old Selbornians.
