28 January 2013
INITIATION AT VP BANNED

TO all the Grade 8 babies at VPHS, initiation has been a school tradition for ever. Grow a pair.

HEALTH CHAOS

THE provincial Health Department has no respect for fellow human beings. What it needs is people with common sense (eg initiative, resourcefulness, enterprising spirit) to head these departments and others (like clinics). Shame on them.

ALLEN

WELL, going to the clinic in 14th Avenue, Walmer, is also a disaster as you sit there the whole day and don't get seen. The staff there are very rude. Sort it out!

PATIENT

PLANS will have to be made to reopen casualty rooms at Provincial Hospital! Sick, desperate people cannot be treated so poorly!

CHERYLEEN, PE

TRAFFIC

THE traffic light system at the intersection of Stanford Road and Kempston Road is a TOTAL MESS!

IAN TURNER

TRANSPORTING children in open bakkies and trucks is actuallyillegal, apart from being very dangerous.

JAN H

POOR roadwork: Will the contractor who did the Forest Hill Drive extension, please own up and fix your mess.

POSTAL DELIVERY

WHY is the post not delivered every day in Summerstrand? Are they on a "go slow"?

AFCON

ORANGE Afcon, what has orange got to do with it?

COLOUR BLIND

NOW that Bafunny Bafunny won 2-0, does that mean we will have a public holiday on January 23 every year?

SOCCER FAN

LEOPARD HUNTING

THE Baviaanskloof doesn't need the likes of Neil Gellman. His type will do anything for money.

MIKE

NEIL Gellman says "nothing wrong in hunting leopards commercially" ... using dogs, nogal. What an unprincipled, cruel and dirty way of making money.

RESPONSES TO READERS' VIEWS

I AGREE with PC Loxton. The road is for vehicles, not pets, cows, donkeys etc. especially in Grahamstown.

MARTIN

I AGREE re: speed bumps. The ones outside Woolworths, Greenacres, are the worst in PE!

DA

PAT Kondile your racist outburst is fitting of 1993 and not 2013. Why is it that so many ANC-run municipalities have gone down the tube, bankrupt?

PT

THANKS for informing us, Pat. I had no idea that there were any whites or coloureds left in influential positions in our metro council.

JOEY

RE: old oil issue. Bring your old oil to Walmer Motors – we will dispose of it.

DON SADLER

YOUR old oil can be dropped off at Craig's Service Centre at 34 Hart Street in Sidwell.

CRAIG

RE: "TASTE of freedom sweet for some, sour for the poor" -- what a brilliant letter. I have always said the ANC policy seems to be to keep the masses illiterate so that they are easier to brainwash with propaganda.

JAN H

A COMMENT on Yoliswa Sobuwa, to correct that Zonke Dikana is not from New Brighton but from eDaku Road, Kwazakhele.

GOVERNMENT hiding all faults – that's why they're upset about the videos. These young children are not as naive as the older crowds and see things as they are.
