Dreadlocked pupil booted out of school

A RASTAFARIAN pupil has been kicked out of a KwaNobuhle school because of his dreadlocks.

Fourteen-year-old Sinothando Booi's first day of high school took a bad turn when teachers pulled him out of assembly at Uitenhage's MV Kwinana High and told him his dreadlocks contravened the school policy of short hair for boys.

His father, Thembisile, accused the school of discriminating against his son's religious beliefs. He also accused the teachers of violating the constitution.
