WATER BUG ALERT IGNORED

HOW many more write-ups about the water must there be before this damn metro municipality take action. Sick to death of this metro governance.

AL

CAN we claim for medical expenses regarding water?

PATIENT

AFCON

I HAVE never heard the minister of sport offering millions of rands to the Proteas or Springboks if they win. So why to Bafana Bafana?

RICHARD, CHARLO

BAFANA goalkeeper: Is he the best we have?

MIKE READ

I'M SURE that Gordon Igesund had blonde hair when he started to coach Bafana Bafana.

GORDON UPTON

WHY do the fixtures take place during the week? Why not Friday to Sunday? More people taking off work.

SHAWSHANK

DEAR "Colourblind", ORANGE is a sponsor. It's a French cellular network like MTN or Vodacom.

IAN VAN DYKE

ANC v FNB

SHAME on you, FNB, for giving in to your ANC masters! Fortunately I don't bank with you, and never will.

RICHARD, CHARLO

BODY FOUND IN SCHOOL

IT'S not the first body. A few years ago one was found in Livingstone High School, then Gelvan Street, another in the Kloof. We as the public don't even know if murderers were caught.

SOUTHERN KINGS

WHERE can I buy a Southern Kings jersey? Sports shops I visited do not have stocks.

HOME AFFAIRS

APPLICATION for ID card: I entered the North End branch of home affairs at 8am. Firstly you pass a security check for your four ID photos. Then you are sent to a 30-chair queue to wait for inquiries. After two and a half hours of waiting, you are sent to a 30-chair queue at the cashier to pay up R240. This also takes about two and a half hours. After payment you are sent to a queue of 50 chairs for nearly three hours at counters 1 to 13 for verification of payment. After this ordeal you are told you will be smsed to collect your ID card. What a stressful eight hours.

RESPONSES TO READERS' LETTERS

WELL said (regarding rugby transformation at NMMU) both Prof Swartz and Mr Matika. I do believe that all these problems started when we rushed into unification in sports, throwing away Sacos principles without proper planning. Now we have abnormal sports in a supposedly normal society.

MATIKA, get a life. There are no more white schools. Most ex model C co-ed schools have more blacks than whites. Come and have a look at what we are doing. If all schools were functional, then sport would be good as well. Blame lazy teachers, apathetic parents and non-delivering authorities rather than so-called white schools doing well using money from fee paying parents!

RE SABC3 commentary – Makhaya Ntini is a star. Get rid of your stiff upper lip, Richard.

GARY

ROBIN Jackman, I agree, is one of the best commentators. Hope his recovery from cancer is going well.

JW

TO Atheist from another one, re Cora Adcock. Your SMS is uncalled for. You obviously have no compassion and you are a hypocrite hiding behind a nom de plume.

BEA GUERRA

THE church is a place of worship and not crime, Atheist, but you would not know that.

BELIEVER

HOW true, SKF! Had to hoot at cyclists riding two abreast in Seaview at 5.30am on Wednesday!

ROB B

I AM a ghost, a supporter of the Buccaneers (Orlando Pirates). I hope this puts the Hamlet saga to bed.
