THE Health Department is letting the people and the government of this province down as far as it concerns poor service delivery.
When it comes to the state of the hospitals in this province, my blood boils, because I know I am going to hear horrible stories about our hospitals.
I am sick and tired of hearing "sorry" in response to the stories all the time. Sorry won't solve any of our problems and this has been perpetuated for quite some time. No normal person can treat his own people like that. We are not going to stop complaining about the ills in the health sector until government officials stop this madness. Recently, we read reports about the Dora Nginza hospital temporarily shutting down its emergency unit, an under-staffed New Brighton clinic ran out of drugs and lastly, the incident at Livingstone Hospital.
I also learnt that the health department does not want to open a unit in one of the hospitals and now they want to return the money to the donors and have to suffer due to the incompetence of government officials.
I am keeping my body in very good shape because nobody wants to sleep in a state hospital because you won't be coming back. A hospital these days is a just a passport to a mortuary.
