WATER CRISIS

I JUST want to tell people of the Bay to boil their drinking water. Be sure not sorry.

RC

FIRE or demote Marthie Nel. She is not worthy of her job description.

KABOUS

MARTHIE Nel should be fired but alas, nothing will be done.

SHAWSHANK

WATER bug ignored. Typical of this incompetent government and municipality. Ignore everything until it becomes a crisis that they (the government) think will go away, eg electricity crisis.

EP

THREE of the four of us had the stomach bug before Christmas. Two needed a doctor and medicine. Recovery was two to three weeks. We suspected it was the PE water.

S MC LACHLAN

IN DECEMBER I was unknowingly one of the victims of the shigella bacteria. Was advised to see my doctor after a few visits to Mount Road Pharmacy. Who can I sue? Please advise.

TE DOUWS

DREADLOCKED PUPIL

GLAD to see school rules being enforced. Let's hope the rules are not relaxed after they ran to the newspaper!

MIKE

KIDNAPPING

HOW did two people fit "in the tailgate of a car"?

BEVIS

BETHELSDORP SHOOTING

IN BETHELSDORP four family members were shot dead – not a single arrest. Especially in the northern areas, there is no confidence in the police.

FNB ADVERT

JACKSON Mthembu, we DO resent the government. Where have you been all these years? Asleep?

DAVID G

AFCON

WHY spend millions on flying a supersonic jet every time they play a stupid soccer game?

ALF

TREE CUT DOWN

WE ARE right behind you, Kym Surmon. Trees have to be protected. Where do we sign up?

PAULA

TOTALLY agree with Kym Surmon re "Tree's untimely end". The same applies to people who buy next to leafy properties then constantly hack away at the smallest overhanging branch. Go and live in a desert!

CJ

TRAFFIC PROBLEMS

THERE are a number of traffic lights that need attention. Does anyone monitor them? For example, La Roche-Strandfontein intersection: cars turning right hold up all the traffic at 7am. Needs a short right arrow first.

AB

GUARDS at traffic department in Korsten causing havoc. Why can't authorities at least do something about it? Are the caravans in front on the pavements paying the municipality or are they squatting?

ANGEL

SOLAR DONKEY CARTS

WHAT on earth are our universities doing trying to put the poor donkey out of work?

EEYORE

ANC AND SACP

GWEDE Mantashe speaks of the ANC and SACP sharing trenches. Surely he means troughs.

MIKE READ

COUNCILLOR'S RENT

I CANNOT believe we are paying more than R6000 a month in office rental for one councillor. Shame on you Fat Cats.

ATTIE, PE

WELLS ESTATE

I JUST hope someone will come and save the youth of Wells Estate. There is no sport, the crime rate is high, the corrupt get richer every day. The soccer field is not in a good condition. Help!

WELLS ESTATE RESIDENT

BAIL FOR MURDER ACCUSED

I THINK people like Moses Nofeliti should stay in jail.

BAIL OPPOSER

FIRE DEPARTMENT

IT IS disgusting the way office staff at the South End fire department speak to people who report a fire. No wonder apartheid is still rife.

DISGUSTED

REPLIES TO LETTERS

ISAAC Adams, you sound like a busy man. Not impressed.

PE

LOUIS, being a ghost supporter of the Bucs might well put the Hamlet saga to bed, but like Macbeth we must still contend with Banquo's ghost.

DERRICK FELLOWS

PAT Kondile, I used to enjoy reading your letters but am shocked at your latest outburst.

ROD

UPON my query, RSG informed me that Orange is one of main sponsors of Afcon – a cellphone company with its foot in the door to Africa.
