Algoa Bus drivers agree to return to work

ALGOA Bus Company drivers are expected to be back at work today after their week-long strike was called off yesterday.

Thousands of commuters were left stranded after the drivers, affiliated to the Transport Action Retail General Workers' Union (Thor) went on strike last Wednesday following the earlier suspension of two shop stewards.

The strike turned violent on Monday when a bus was petrol- bombed and another shot at.

Thor chairman Mhlobo Falteni, said following intervention by a Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration commissioner, they called off the strike.
