Weather may put a damper on Warriors' hopes in KZN

THE Sunfoil Series is heading for its closest finish in years and the Chevrolet Warriors have a real chance of claiming their first piece of four-day cricket silverware as a franchise.

Two rounds ago, the Cape Cobras were sitting pretty at the top of the table. But two consecutive losses for the Western Cape franchise have allowed the Lions to slip past them to the summit. Their mini-slump has also enabled the Warriors to sneak up to within touching distance of the lead.

The Lions are on 95.22 points, the Cobras have 92.18 and the Warriors are on 92.00. It is that close and a real tug of war is developing between the three franchises. With two rounds remaining in the competition, it is anybody's trophy to win.
