CUNNINGHAM AND BALLAN
HE got away with too much in the past and bragged about it. I hope that justice will be served this time.
CUNNINGHAM has history of violence prior to current case. The two-year suspended sentence should immediately be applied and he should not be allowed out on streets to commit further offences.
123 KIDS IN ONE CLASS
THIS is not normal and its unfair to the kids. Why can't the parents lift their voices? Overcrowded classes are a huge problem. We as teachers end up in hospital because of overcrowded classrooms. I have 52 pupils in my Grade R class, which is unacceptable.
MY child attends Herbert Hurd and is in a class of 32! At R1000 per month. I think the school needs to build more classes! Not pocket the extra money. No wonder half the school is on medication to keep up.
TOO many school pupils, 80% starvation and malnutrition. Time to award mothers with maximum two children and men a cash bonus to have a vasectomy.
JUST a question? South Africa is a country dying for nutrition! So why doesn't this government take a leaf out of China's book? One child per family.
THIS must be only country where women get paid by government to have children. Hence school crisis!
BRIAN A, HUMANSDORP
DO the fire and health departments have anything to say regarding exits and toilet facilities?
HALF our teachers spend the day at the clinic (with) no medical aid. The children came to school for nothing. Please make the Eastern Cape education department the mamparas of the week.
FOR weeks now I have tried to phone SA Social Security Agency on all their toll free numbers for re-registration queries. Always engaged. Please, what do I do?
SHANE Warne makes valuable point about the Australian cricket board. CSA also guilty of this.
WE haven't heard the last of nationalisation. As government funds dry up as a result of splurging and theft, stand by for desperate measures.
ENTRANCE to Malabar – streets, lanes, parks etc are in a mess and have not been upgraded. Mrs Sauls, you are the councillor. You have done nothing.
HERALD CARTOONS AND COLUMNS
MARK Wiggett's cartoon comparing dinosaurs with the municipal management is offensive. Dinosaurs were never that backward or incompetent.
AMAZING! The weather in Wednesday's Herald claims Tuesday's wind was only 0-26 km/hr at midday. Is the airport measuring device behind a wall?
REPLIES TO LETTERS
ISAAC Adams, thank you for your explanation. It's not clean, especially that Mercantile Hospital corner.
BELIEVER, You say "the church is a place of worship and not crime". The truth is some of the worst crimes have been committed in the name of God by the church, it's members and clergy! "It is often those who profess most loudly to know Christ who make it most difficult for others to see Him." Get off your high horse and then help Cora Adock down!
ATTIE complains that councillor office rental is fat cat greed. Councillors occupy offices supplied by metro officials and councillor Odendal requested and moved to a smaller office to cut expenses. Get facts.
KYM Surmon's issue about the chopping down of a neighbour's tree ignores his lack of jurisdiction.
RE HARPIC ad: I not only use the mute button, but the remote to blank out the picture!
ANON, please read again about the school principal. He must repay the school R6000000, starting from March, at R10000 per month for five years, but will face jail if he does not fulfil his obligation. It is right that he pays back and does not just sit in jail. That is justice.
