EASTERN Cape Local Government MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane has threatened to take over Nelson Mandela Bay’s administration, after a bungle with the appointment of an acting municipal manager last week.
Qoboshiyane warned yesterday that if he believed the city suffered "detrimental effects of an administrative collapse”, he would slap the metro – the biggest in the province – with Section 139 (1) (a) of the constitution, which gave him the power to instruct the city on how to run its daily affairs.
