MOOSAGIE TRIAL

JUDGE Chetty should see this trial to the end. Moosagie and Jenkins will do anything to have this trial forfeited. Bring them to justice.

AK

MY heart bleeds for Lutfia Moosagie. I think she is an innocent victim, whose name was used to secure contracts. I think she is just a name on paper.

READER

MOOSAGIE disappears before Christmas and only now they think he has been kidnapped! Who orchestrated this anyway?

COUNCILLORS’ PERFORMANCE

HOW about The Herald doing a performance survey of all serving councillors, (opposition included). It appears many go into hibernation between elections.

CUNNINGHAM TRIAL

ANY man that beats a woman the way Brent Cunningham (allegedly) did deserves a long, long prison sentence. He must remember what goes around comes around!

JANINE

STRIKE ACTION

WESTERN Cape farm workers strike/protests are led by Cosatu. Are people aware that with the government’s expanded public works programme, a workers wage is R69 per day. It makes you think.

ANDY K

SO much for Algoa Bus Company reporting that the bus strike was over and all services would be back to normal on January 31! I, like others, waited for route 65 shift 2611, but it did not arrive. I am waiting for answers from Algoa Bus Company. It is disgusting that the hooligan element takes over and disrupts everything. These strikers just don’t value and respect their own or others’ jobs and the inconvenience. Appoint responsible people who really want to work!

NKANDLA

THE whole place will go up in flames one night -– just like the St Francis fire. It’s just a matter of time ...

DOC

I JUST want to know how long I must wait for a simple RDP one-room house. The only thing I see is Jacob Zuma’s palace. What about us poor people?

HOMELESS

AFCON

I HAD no idea the SAPS and the traffic department had so many vehicles – but let’s not go into the aircraft.

BRUNO

RAMPHELE’S POLITICAL STAND

RAMPHELE should seriously consider forming a new party to prevent our country sliding further into this deep abyss. I will be the first to sign up.

MARK HENDRICKS

ESKOM

CAN somebody please tell me why Eskom are advertising on TV at great expense when they have no competition? They must have too much money. Obviously no increase needed.

PENSIONER

UITENHAGE AND DESPATCH

THE worst thing that happened to both towns of Despatch and Uitenhage was to be incorporated into the NMBM.

HERALD COLUMNISTS

MANDLA Seloane, these national assemblies elected by the people are just a smokescreen because it is still controlled by the kings. Democracy is a fraud. Otherwise good article.

REPLIES TO READERS’ VIEWS

BRIAN, South Africa is not the only country that pays mothers to have children. Britain does too. That is why there is such a high teenage pregnancy rate in UK. Unmarried mothers get free housing as well, all paid by the taxpayer.

MARG

BRIAN A of Humansdorp has clearly never heard of the social grants paid to single mothers in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

PAM

I agree 100% with Lola. Where ARE the adult white lions? If people knew the truth they would be horrified! Try canned hunting as a possible answer.

ANIMAL LOVER

RE: the Harpic advert. I could not agree with Ad Watcher more. I for one will never buy Harpic just because of that irritating and ridiculous ad!

DR WEST

THIS Harpic advert is hugely overexposed and driving me away from the product.

KEITH, PE

A VERY moving letter written by M Negres about the Holocaust. Let us remember, lest we forget!
