I WAS surprised to read people trying to purchase tickets were advised tickets were "sold out" ("Push for police probe into Afcon ticket saga", January 25). I purchased six tickets online on the morning of January 24, match day of the Ghana v Mali and Niger v DRC games at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
There did not appear to be any problem purchasing tickets at all.
I was a little apprehensive about not being able to choose my seats. However on getting to the seats selected for me, they were great.
I could not have chosen better seats myself.
The only question is: how many people are aware of and or able to book tickets online? You need internet access (an e-mail address) and the ability to print the ticket voucher, and a cheque or credit card. It's really simple.
The website is http://afcon2013.eqtickets.com/ eQtickets/en/individual.php.
I collected my tickets early at the stadium.
Surely this option needs to be promoted?.
