How to choose the best jeans for you

06 February 2013
JEANS are a fashion staple no matter what your personal style is. We all love them. But finding that elusive perfect pair that make your legs and butt look fabulous is no mean feat.

Luckily, we’ve done all the hard work to bring you this guide to help you choose the best jeans for your body.

Hourglass-shaped women (Curvy)
Jeans with some stretch in them work best on this figure as they will enhance your curves. Skinny-fit, flared and bootleg jeans all look good on your figure as they show off your shape. Darker jeans will make you look slimmer, especially with heels.

Apple-shaped women (Less-defined waist with rounded tum, slim hips)
Buy jeans that have a flat front and a rise that is lower than your natural waist. Avoid tucks and button-up jeans as they will add bulk onto your tummy area.

The inverted triangle body (Top-heavy)
Go for wide-legged jeans to balance your top half. You can also for jeans with details on the back pockets to lift and add some definition to your butt.

Pear-shaped women (Wider hips and generous thighs, narrower shoulders and a smaller waistline)
Avoid light jeans that may have the worn look around the upper leg and body section as this will draw the attention to this area. Choose darker shades of denim that will give more of a slimming effect. Hipsters will help you avoid that gaping waist scenario while low-rise jeans can make your bottom look smaller.

Rectangle-shaped women (Undefined waist equal to hips and bust)
You can get away with any pair of jeans. The idea is to create proportion to create the illusion of an hourglass figure so if you opt for flared jeans wear a slim-fitting top. Or go for skinny jeans with a tunic style top.
