I HAVE just completed a short visit to South Africa. When I heard of your lovely city's name I had to visit – I was born and bred in Port Elizabeth, in the US.

Being a syndicated art critic in print media I during my one-day visit visited your though few, worthwhile galleries. Please Bayonians (as I am led to understand you call yourselves), visit and support them.

Beautiful beaches you do have, but also art galleries that must be seen. ArtEC deserves much support – the Aftermath exhibition by Bill Jones I saw was an excellent endeavour.

Thanks to all for a lovely visit, I hope to be back.
