DEAR Mr Zuma,
Thank you very much for bringing to the attention of the people of South Africa that the "colonists" earn six times more than the indigenous people. Who do you think is to blame for this situation?
The ANC since 2004 has refused to use white teachers in the black schools without even considering the contribution that they could have made. You decided to use teachers who were untrained and indisciplined, and many of them only attended the classes that they were to teach for short periods.
The result that a whole generation of school children are today hopelessly uneducated and not qualified to fill well paid positions.
The ANC has closed down both the clothing and shoe manufacturers, and thereby taken many thousands of jobs away from workers. You have given these jobs to the East and let down our own people.
In 2004 your government closed down the railways, which could have placed many thousands of positions. Closing the railways not only lost opportunities, but put all the necessary transport onto the roads.
These roads cannot carry such heavy traffic and are packing up. Instead of fixing the damage to the roads you now want to load the cost of repair onto the already heavily burdened wage earner.
You state that you do not approve of "colonists", yet slowly you are handing South Africa over to a huge country in the East.
Paul McCabe, Graaff-Reinet
