City boss stalemate continues

08 February 2013
Rochelle de Kock

A COUNCIL meeting to resolve Nelson Mandela Bay's leadership crisis was postponed yesterday at the eleventh hour, leaving the metro without a municipal manager for a fifth day.

In the midst of the administration chaos, ANC regional bosses decided to take a step back and watch as council leaders they describe as ill-disciplined cadres "destroy" themselves.

Instead, he pushed for Ntombi Baart to be appointed on Thursday last week, even though she was not available for the job as she was already employed in Bhisho.

Isn't this when the Rate Payers Association is supposed to take the Metro to court? Is there even a Rate Payers Association?

The blind leading the blind. Here we have a corrupt (read about the latest Health and Education fiascos elsewhere in the Herald this week) and failing Province trying to sort out a failed Municipality trying to appoint a discredited cadre (Google Ms Baart's recent history). Can people still rationally vote for any of these ANC clowns?
