REPLIES TO READERS’ COMMENTS

BRUCE Woolard’s assessment of Bafana Bafana’s performance is an absolute joke! They were in the weakest group, drew the first game, beat the weakest side, should have lost by at least three goals against Morocco and could not even convert their penalties in the quarterfinal! "And they were unlucky!” Hilarious! They only played in the tournament because they hosted it!

GRAHAMSTOWN name change: leave Grahamstown as Grahamstown. Use that money to fix roads or pay for more teachers.

K JOHNS, if by now you don’t know that we live in a dangerous country and should not walk in any area as a woman, then you are dumb, I’m afraid to say!

THE complimentary "goodie” bag handed out to cyclists at The Herald Cycle Tour is a joke – the bag was worth more than the contents!

LIGHTS NOT WORKING ON FREEWAY

PLEASE put the lights on along the highway from the North End prison to Bluewater Bay. Have you seen how the highway around Coega is lit up like a Christmas tree? Could they not put every second light off at Coega and every second one on along the unlit part? It would make such a difference and be so much safer.

RAPE AND ABUSE RAMPANT

RAPE and abuse won’t stop unless they bring back the death sentence.

CONCERNED about the rape and murder of kids and youths of our nation. What disturbs me is when an NPA official with assistance from some court officials and a SAPS official ventured to some schools in Port Elizabeth for an awareness programme, at some schools experienced principals displayed disinterest by postponing awareness appointments due to social events at their schools. These are where pupils get targeted by their fellow school mates. I am very disappointed by such principals who show lack of interest!
