Clarendon whiz-kids off to national final

13 February 2013

Francois van Mazijk

EASTERN Cape schools went head to head in Port Elizabeth yesterday to find the region’s smartest bookworms.

The Kids Lit Quiz international competition pits teams of four against each other and tests their knowledge of children’s literature.

The winners of the regional round were a team from Clarendon Park Primary School. They are Hans Muller, 13, Taylor Penrith, 12, Shannon Hubbard, 13, and Josie Handman, 12.

The brainy team will now head to the national final in Johannesburg on Saturday. The world finals will be held in Durban later this year.
