The bail application of Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius has been postponed to Tuesday. He will be kept in custody at the Brooklyn Police Station.

Pistorius appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Friday morning on a charge of murder. He was sobbing uncontrollably in the dock when the charges were read out.

The NPA announced in court on Friday that they will argue premeditated murder in the case against Pistorius.

The paralympian medalist allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend, former Miss PE finalist and FHM model, Reeva Steenkamp early on Thursday morning.
