Ironman Corporate and Iron Girl challenges

 

We are gearing up to take on this year’s Ironman Corporate and Iron Girl challenges.

If you would like to participate in one of these events please enter online at the below address and send through your confirmation email to Deirdre Brand, BrandD@timesmedia.co.za by 19 February 2013.

Categories

The following categories can be entered:

• Individual
• Mother-daughter team

Remember

• Athletes must be 14 years* or older on race day to participate.
• Mother-daughter teams will be timed separately and times combined for final finisher times.
• Mother-daughter teams must be bona fide female family members.
• The entire race must be completed by each member of the team.
• If a team member is not able to compete in the event, the remaining team member may switch to individual entry BEFORE Friday 5 April 2013.
• Team members who switch to individual entry will not be eligible for prizes in the individual age group categories.
• You will need to show a valid South African ID book, driver’s license or passport at registration.

*All athletes must sign a waiver form to participate. U/18s must have a parent or legal guardian to sign the waiver on their behalf.

All registration packs will include

• Entrant t-shirt
• Race number and safety pins
• Timing chip and timing belt

Each athlete/team member will also receive the following

• Iron Girl South Africa finisher medal (upon completion of the race)
• Iron Girl South Africa finisher certificate (downloadable 2 weeks after the event)

· Where: The Boardwalk Convention Centre and Spa Level 1 Parking

· Time: 9am - 6pm & 9am - 2pm respectively

· NB: Please remember to bring your ID/Passport/Driver's License.

Iron Girl South Africa awards ceremony

· When: Friday, 12 April 2013

· Where: The Boardwalk Amphitheatre

· Time: 6pm

Iron Girl South Africa race

· When: Friday, 12 April 2013

· Where: Hobie Beach, Port Elizabeth

· Distance: 10km fun run

· Time: 4pm - 6pm

 

Categories

• Corporate Teams (2 or 3 member teams)

• School Teams (2 or 3 member teams)

• Individual (Male or Female)

Remember

• Teams can consist of 2 to 3 members of any gender.

• The minimum age for individuals and team members is 14 years in 2013 (i.e. all people born in 1999 or earlier may enter)*.

• All disciplines must be completed - i.e. one person must swim, another bike and another run in a 3-person team, while the 2-person team can divide the disciplines as they wish between the two team members.
• Each team member must be present and must sign the indemnity during the registration process. In case of under 18’s a parent/ legal guardian must be present for each minor to sign these forms. See the detailed event schedule for details on the registration dates and hours.

All Registration Packs will include

· Race Number plus safety pins

· 1 x Timing Chip and Timing Belt (to be placed on right ankle before swim start - this timing chip and belt is your relay baton and will be passed to your other team members during the race)

· Swim Cap

Each athlete/Team member receives the following

• CTC Finisher Medal (upon completing the race)
• CTC T-shirt (at Registration)
• CTC Goodie Bag (at Registration)

Corporate Triathlon Challenge

· When: Saturday, 13 April 2013

· Where: Hobie Beach, Port Elizabeth

· Distance: 380m Swim, 18km Bike and 4.2km Run

· Time: 07:50am – 11am

T&C’s

· Staff entries will be paid for by Times Media but each entrant must ensure that they are available to participate before entering.

· Should an entrant not participate with the exclusion of medical reasons, a full refund of the entry fee must be paid back to the company.

· If an entrant cannot participate due to medical reasons a medical certificate needs to be provided.

· Iron Girl - For the safety of all participants, strollers, inline skates, rollerblades, headphones, bicycles and animals will not be allowed on the course at any time.

· Iron Girl - Athletes are allowed to run or walk the distance.
