PROGRESS continued with their winning ways when they defeated Swallows 31-23 to earn full points in their Eastern Cape Super 12 club rugby match in East London at the weekend.

The visitors announced their intentions early on when scrumhalf Kelvano King scored two tries in the first half before Denano Ketcham added a third. Flyhalf Zwelakhe Sodlala converted all three tries.

In Group A, Gardens showed no mercy as they outclassed Breakers 34-18 in Uitenhage.

Buffalos had a good second half to beat Park 21-10 at Londt Park after leading 9-7 at halftime.

Park scored the only try in the first half but in the second half there was some good decision-making by the visitors which brought them two tries.

In Mdantsane, a late surge by Winter Rose on their home ground saw them beat PE SAPS 21-17.

With 20 minutes to go, Police were leading 17-8, but Winter Rose built up some momentum to snatch the win.
