THE East Cape Schools Synchronised Swimming Challenge took place at Pearson on Saturday, drawing close to 50 girls from 16 schools.
The competition takes place every year and girls enter at three different levels – novice for school swimmers in their first two years of training, level 1 for swimmers in their third year or longer and level 2 for the top swimmers.
The Novice Open had the most entries and was won by Lauren Klette, of Collegiate. However, Pearson swimmers filled the next five places in this section and this helped their school to win the high schools points competition, with Collegiate second.
Junior Collegiate won the Primary Schools division. The age-group champions this year are:
Level 2, 10 and under: Chloe Elgar (Clarendon Park); 12 and under: Taegan van Zyl (Collegiate); 14 and under: Elke Zerbst (Pearson); 16 and under: Chessrin Davids (John Bisseker); 19 and under: Courtney Musson (Collegiate)
Level 1, 10 and under: Chloe Bradfield (St Marks), 12 and under: Emmlyn Spogter (St Annes), 14 and under: Britney Fischer (Pefferville), 16 and under: Taryn Bosch (Pearson)
