Principal allegedly assaulted

A PRIMARY school principal was allegedly assaulted by a community member in an ongoing feud over mother-tongue tuition at a Greenbushes school in Nelson Mandela Bay. 

Kuyga resident Albert Maarman allegedly assaulted Kuyga Intermediate School principal Vuvu Dubula in her office on Monday.

Tension has been brewing at the school over the past few months, resulting in class disruptions during which predominantly Afrikaans-speaking coloured parents removed their children from class in protest against the lack of mother-tongue tuition.
