Police found boxes of testosterone and injection needles in the house of paralympian Oscar Pistorius after his girlfriend was shot dead, the Pretoria Magistrate's Court heard on Wednesday.
Investigating officer Hilton Botha said: "We found boxes of testosterone, needles and injections," but advocate Barry Roux said the testosterone was a herbal remedy and was not banned.
"It is a herbal remedy," Roux said. "It is not a steroid and it's not a banned substance."
Pistorius cried again as Nel took Botha through the statement he had made, and which contained details of the black and white sleepwear Steenkamp had worn and the towels which had covered her body.
Pistorius has denied that he murdered Steenkamp in a shooting at his home in the Silver Wood country estate in Pretoria.
