Creche being stolen – bit by bit

A SPATE of no fewer than 12 burglaries is having a devastating effect on a Port Elizabeth creche for the physically disabled, which is being stolen bit by bit.

The break-ins have also left teachers worried about organising the children's next meal after the brazen burglars stole their gardening equipment last week.

The spate of crimes has left the school with no other alternative other than to turn to the community following the burglaries, which have taken place over the past two months.

The plea for assistance comes after the Association for the Physically Disabled Day Care Centre in Addo Road, Motherwell, had been burgled 12 times since December.

ADT Security in Port Elizabeth will sponsor the creche with a free fitted alarm and also free monthly monitoring.
