Gospel singer to release first DVD

FANS of Unathi Luthweyi Ndzube are in for a treat – the Seymour-born gospel artist is working on her first music DVD.

This comes just more than a year after she recorded her debut album, Akuthethile Uyakwenza (God fulfills His Promises), in December 2011.

"I have always wanted to shoot a DVD and when this opportunity was presented to me by my recording company, I grabbed it with both hands. I have already done four songs for the DVD and we are left with six that still need to be shot," she said.

It has not all been smooth sailing though, as two of Ndzube's relatives died while she was shooting the DVD, but the shoot is now back on track. The DVD will feature songs from her debut album.

"People will love my DVD as it is full of praise and worship songs. This DVD ... talks to everyone, especially the young generation, helping them to see that their decisions should not be determined by circumstances surrounding them," Ndzube said.

"The fact that I was raised in a poor family did not limit me."
