Kings aim to gain parity at forward

HOOKER Bandise Maku says it is vital the Southern Kings pack provides a solid set piece so their talented backline can be launched on to the attack against the Western Force tomorrow. Maku says the Kings are fully geared up for their Super Rugby debut against the Australian outfit which is expected to attract more than 30 000 fans to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

"It is vital that we have a good set piece so that we can apply pressure on the Force," the former Springbok hooker said.

The livewire hooker admits there will be nerves in the Kings camp ahead of kick-off, but his team are looking forward to the challenge.

"Five minutes into the game, however, you forget about nerves and worry about doing your job."
