THE former lead detective in the Oscar Pistorius case, Warrant-Officer Hilton Botha, is not the only officer who has had the unflattering limelight shifted to him.
Bredasdorp police station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Maree Louw has found herself in the dock recently on charges of defeating the ends of justice and of reckless driving. Louw appeared last week in the Bredasdorp Magistrate's Court – the same building the alleged attackers found themselves in.
Her counsel is DA MP and former Western Cape Police Commissioner Lennit Max. It has been alleged that Louw knocked down a man in 2008 and drew up a false police report.
