KEEN collectors can enjoy an exciting high-end auction and evening event in Port Elizabeth next week.

The auction will feature various unique collectors' items such as a golf shirt autographed by Olympic swimmer Chad le Clos and top-end collectors' wines.

The exclusive event at Volvo in Cape Road will be staged by the Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth West on March 1.

Proceeds collected will be donated to the Dora Nginza Hospital paediatric ward. A limited number of tickets are still available

Event organiser Lindi Gillespie said that all ticket buyers would be provided with a website auction catalogue outlining and showcasing the various auction items.

The headline item to be auctioned is an autographed copy of the Earl Spencer silk woven book of his eulogy to his late sister, Princess Diana.

A Desmond Tutu-autographed book and boutique venue getaways were also on the list of more than 15 offerings, Gillespie said.

The event's catering will incorporate the winelands theme.

According to Gillespie, a "master chef" will prepare the food.

Wines from various estates will be on offer.

Lourensford Wine Estate and Ormonde Wine Estate will sponsor the event's wine.

"Among [the wines to be auctioned] is an autographed Retief Goosen bottle of wine, The Goose Expression 2007 and an Ernie Els Signature wine which is a 2006 Bordeaux blend," Gillespie said.

Contact Lindi Gillespie at 082-800-9234 for tickets.
