Moves to oust Wayile pick up

MOVES to oust Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Zanoxolo Wayile have gained momentum, with some in the ANC pushing for him to be replaced by one of four people, including 81-year-old MP Ben Fihla.

Regional ANC leaders have been gunning for Wayile and his executive for almost two years but so far have failed to get the nod from national bosses who fear a reshuffle could further destabilise the city.

They say their deadline for change is "the end of the month" – and that is Thursday.

ANC regional secretary Zandisile Qupe said yesterday: "It's not a matter of if it's going to happen, but about how it is going to be implemented and when."

Four days ago I wrote "Welcome Dr Msengana Ndlela to the Metro of failed delivery due to juvenile infighting between Faku and Wayile". Since the 90's the people of our Metro have watched the collapse of service delivery as the ANC/Civic Organisations and various other cliques have focused on their own self interests. This became worse when Faku was ousted following the Kabuso Report (still no answers there either?) Just when we get a new Municipal Manager, the anti-Wayile clique is back at it again. It is clear that the national ANC intervention by Derek Hanekom has failed. It is now up to the citizen voters to get rid of the pathetic excuse for an "Administration" in the NMBMM under the ANC. Surely even the most die-hard supporters can't carry on voting for these clowns?
